BIENIEMY OFFENSE

Good article on Eric Bieniemy, long regarded as one of the NFL's best offensive gurus!

If you've followed the Redskins this summer you know that Bienemy is not scared to hold players accountable!

“He ain’t getting on you just to be getting on you,” said wide receiver Byron Pringle, who played in Kansas City for three seasons. “He’s getting on you because he sees potential. He sees greatness. And if you’re here (raises hand), he thinks he can push you here (raises hand higher). Not just if you’re playing here. If you go somewhere else, your standard will never be low. That’s a big thing that I learned from playing with him in the past. … If you’re not ready to work, that pisses him off. But if you’re working, he loves it.”

I liked Rivera's description of his preparation on game day as a defensive coordinator.

“It was pretty intense,” Rivera said this week of his first game as a defensive play caller. “You check and you recheck and you check again. I do remember it was a home game (against the Detroit Lions), waking up real early, earlier than normal — I mean, like 4:30 a.m. early — and just kind of going over the list again, going through my play calls. … And I can remember going through it, and it just kind of flowed, and that’s what I’m looking for, you know, is the flow.
